The entire second year took this trip to Canada in the fall of 2007. The three cities we studied were Montreal, Quebec, and Ottawa.
“Traveling, you realize that differences are lost; each city takes to resembling all cities, places exchange their form, order, distances, a shapeless dust cloud invades the continents.” -Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

During Spring Break of my sophomore year, my friends and I took a short trip to New York City. While it was not given through CAP, it felt more like an architecture school trip than a typical Spring Break vacation.

This was a studio trip taken in the fall semester of my third year. Highlights include biking across the Golden Gate Bridge and touring SOM's Cathedral of Christ the Light.

In the summer of 2009, I participated in a study abroad program through CAP that was led by my professor Ana de Brea. The South American countries that we visited were Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina. In Chile, we toured Pablo Neruda's houses in Santiago, Valparaiso, and Isla Negra, while in Rosario, Uruguay, we met with a number of local architects and visited various offices and projects. In addition, we were fortunate enough to be able to attend a talk by 2009 Pritzker Prize award winner Pieter Zumthor at the National University in Buenos Aires.

After South America, we then spent a week in Barcelona, Spain. Highlights include sketching the Barcelona Pavilion, floating in the Mediterranean Sea, and visiting Gaudi's masterpieces.
